Hey guys! I am back with another recipe that is just as simple as my last. I think simplicity is what I am all about because anyone will be able to follow along! These directions aren’t very descriptive because in reality, with this recipe they don’t need to be. I think this recipe is up for a lot of customization and you can perfect it however you would like!
I’ve been in love with these since my best friend’s mom made these for us in middle school! If anyone’s recipe is perfect, it’s hers!
Preheat your oven to 350° F
We’ll start with the ingredients I used first! Here’s what you’ll need:
2 cups of Crushed graham crackers
1 cup of Pecans
1/2 cup of Butter
1/2 cup of Coconut
1 cup of Semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup of White chocolate chips
1 (14 oz) can of Condensed milk
I used an 8×8 USA baking pan. These are the absolute best for baking. I have loved using their items when baking cookies, cakes and these bars.
You can use a 9×9 or even a 9×13 pan. Anything works really! If you want them thick, then use a smaller pan.
- Grease your baking pan
- Mix together your butter, graham cracker crumbs and pecans
- Pour graham cracker crumb mix into pan and press firmly to line the pan
- Top your first layer with the remaining ingredients. Mix it up however you want and use as much or as little as you would like!
- Pour condensed milk over all the layers and cover evenly
- Bake for 25 minutes or until it’s slightly browned on top.
- Let cool and enjoy!!
Here you will start with a separate bowl and mix together your butter and graham cracker crumbs. You can either crush up your own graham crackers or buy the boxed crumbs!
I recommend adding a tad bit more butter to make sure the crumbs really come together nicely.
What you’ll do next is pour some of your pecans in the mix of your graham cracker crumbs. This is a step you can skip if you don’t want them in the mix.
This next step is my favorite! It’s time to start layering each topping. This is super easy and the part where you can customize it however you would like!
I usually add more chocolate and pecans!
And keep it light on the coconut. Just keep layering each topping however you would like!
Before you place it in the oven you’ll want to add your condensed milk. The condensed milk is what brings everything together nicely and gives the best result ever! What you can do to make them more moist is each time you add a topping, you add condensed milk. You do it every other layer. I have done that quite a few times before and it makes the outcome perfect!
Now pop this in the oven and let it all come together!
I couldn’t have been any happier with how these turned out! They were picture perfect!
Everyone’s will turn out differently based on what toppings you used and what order you put them in. My only regret was not putting more butter in the graham cracker crumbs to make them more moist. But other than that, these were perfect!
